Hemet UMC Weekly Reminders and Events

When the word “church” comes up in conversation, the first thing we think of is a building. We have this mindset that church is a place we go to on Sundays.  it’s easy to forget the fact that; We are the church.

In 1 Timothy 5, Paul describes the church as people dedicated to doing whatever it takes to reach out and help others. We are still able to serve and help others in need as the church. Caring for each other as well as those outside of the church is the quickest way to see Jesus change lives.

The people of Hemet United Methodist Church invite you to our Sunday morning worship via Zoom. We look forward to joining together at 10:30 for a time of worship and praise for the many blessings God has provided. We will worship God by singing, praying, reading scripture and listening to a message. In person at the Sanctuary and through Zoom, we also enjoy a time of fellowship after the service.

Zoom meeting information is available by contacting the office. You’ll be able to join us over the phone, computer or tablet. Watch for recordings of our services on Facebook.

Sunday Worship
In-Person and Zoom
10:30 a.m.

As you are all aware the cases of COVID are on the increase. Even with vaccines there are cases of COVID occurring. The safety and protection of all is most important. Masks are now required in the sanctuary. We will continue to follow CDC recommendations.
Again, masks are required for all. With the unknowns of the variant, please be cautious. By wearing masks we can hopefully avoid the closing of the Sanctuary and offering Zoom worship only.

We will also remain socially distanced in seating.  Restroom policies remain the same. Fellowship Hour with coffee and snacks will not yet return.

The recommendations for the virus and its variants will continue to be monitored. Updates will be shared as soon as possible. Brighter days are ahead, please continue to be patient.

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 30, 9:00-11:00 a.m.

This is our last food and baby product drive of the year.

Thank you for all the September donations. Once again, we filled the truck. Community Pantry is is need of all food items. My City Youth is in need of baby products:  shampoo, soap, powder, wipes, socks, bibs, etc. The donation wagon is back in the Narthex ready to receive donations all month. There are also envelopes for monetary donations. My City Youth and Valley Community Pantry appreciates all our donations.

The need is especially great in our community.
Donations can be mailed to the church or dropped off in the mail box.

Over a year ago the Community Pantry contacted faith-based organizations and other organizations with the need for financial support.

Financial donations, in addition to food items, are an excellent way for HUMC to support the work of the Community Pantry. There is great need in the valley and this is a good way for us to serve in the providing food and shelter to others.

There are donation envelopes available in the red food wagon in the Narthex and during our parking lot food drives. Donations can also be marked Community Pantry and mailed to the church.

Did you know there are now several non-profit groups using our facilities for their programs?

Currently 4-H offers archery in the park. Have you noticed the bales of hay and targets? Their club also meets in the Family Life Center

My Selfie Empowerment  This is a newly formed group formed to support young people. They hold conferences that empower youth in decision making and offer support as youth navigate their way in life.

Other opportunities for groups to meet in our facilities are in the works. If you are part of a group looking for a place to meet, please contact the office.
